A Classic Ode to Aged Elegance

Roubaix

A study in aged elegance, the Roubaix collection of French oak floorboards recalls the appearance of hard and noble wood flooring that has withstood the test of time — and has the character to prove it. Heavily brushed and torched using the Shou Sugi Ban method, each plank is hardened and given a unique color and texture. This process, combined with undulated surfaces, filled cracks, and the irreplaceable charm of deeper marks, grooves, and rounded edges, elevates the depth and texture of the grain.

The Roubaix raw oak is sourced from forests in northeastern France. Once harvested, the planks are sent to Belgium, where they are individually and meticulously hand-finished.

The fully artisan-crafted Roubaix range is available with a textured, uneven surface finish in 11 rich color options. For each color, there is the opportunity to insert rusty metal plates within the floorboards to create the feeling of traditionally repaired old tavern floors.

How It Looks

Roubaix is simultaneously classic and rustic with its textured, uneven surface that includes distinct grooves and a pronounced grain enhanced by its colors. This effect is further dramatized through the addition of the optional rusty metal plates.

How Long It Lasts

As it is already authentically aged, Roubaix beautifully integrates the minor to moderate wear that can be expected over time — depending on foot traffic. Any wood color variation is to be expected with regular and consistent exposure to UV rays.

Where to Use It

This versatile collection can be used in a wide variety of indoor spaces that receive anywhere from moderate to high traffic.

Why People Love It

The Roubaix features a subtle yet elegantly rustic mood that celebrates a time-honored aesthetic and the character of beautiful imperfections and saturated yet nuanced colorations.
