Last month, we announced the addition of our newest mosaic marble tile, the petite 1” Penny Round, seen here in our signature Casablanca Carrara marble:
Penny mosaic is a perfect tile for those more decorative purposes, its size and structure well-suited to adding texture where needed. We can already see this dainty tile making a home for itself in shower nooks, bathroom backsplashes, and other little nooks around the home. Small, round tiles like Penny mosaic are perfect for offsetting angular spaces that just need those edges softened ever so slightly. Every time we add a new tile to our repertoire, we can't help but but be excited to see all the new opportunities our customers will find with them, and this classic mosaic marble tile is no exception.View this post on Instagram
Exploring Other Possibilities with Marble Tile
Now that we’ve spent some time talking up our new offerings, it’s time to move on to one of our favorite things to do: talking up our customer’s creations! Over the years, our customers have proven that the tiles we offer can be used in countless exciting ways, creating spaces that even we couldn’t have imagined. One of our favorite parts of offering our tiles is seeing them put to good use, and our customers consistently do just that. This fun bathroom reno, courtesy of Home and Chaos, offers up plenty of understated style complemented by our bold and bombastic Casablanca Carrara and Nero Marquina Large Hex Mosaic marble tile. One of the offerings we’re most excited about, this Large Hex Mosaic blends our signature Casablanca Carrara marble with the sleek, moody Nero Marquina marble, creating an intricate and interesting tile perfect for bathrooms like this. This tile is a great choice for designers who want to use marble, but need something with more color variation than one would get in a slab or with tiles of a single marble type. Take this space for example; it would still look pretty good with an application of white marble tile for the floor, but would that white marble be different enough in color from the tile backsplash or white countertops to offer real contrast? Though our white marble features a subtle grey veining, in this case subtle grey just might not be enough to offset the white in the rest of the space. The addition of even a touch of black Nero Marquina proves, in this case, to be the perfect solution. The combined Nero Marquina and Casablanca Carrara marble offer just a touch of the contrasting dark shades needed to offset the white in the rest of the room, while perfectly matching with the lighting and sink fixtures. This small dose of Nero Marquina is enough to completely unite this bathroom into a cohesive and stylish space. We absolutely love this designer’s take on one of our more unique tiles, and we look forward to seeing what they do in the future! While tiles like Casablanca Carrara and Nero Marquina Large Hex Mosaic bring complexity to the table, sometimes simplicity is a better tool for the space. Some spaces look just perfect using only a single variety of marble, because marble is, well, marble. It’s a classic material with natural striations and a gorgeous shimmer, so there’s not always a need to add anything. As this bathroom demonstrates, marble tile is perfectly capable of taking center stage:View this post on Instagram
This bathroom, which actually features 3 of our tiles, is the perfect example of how the use of marble tile can elevate a space almost entirely on its own. Aside from some choice fixtures, black tile on the floor, and quite exceptional lighting, this bathroom’s main feature is our signature Casablanca Carrara marble tile, seen here in 6x12” subway with 2” Hexagon mosaic marble tile on the floor and in the nook. The bold marble subway tile offers a broad, reflective surface, which captures the light and brightens the space quite well. The delicate touches of Hexagon mosaic contrast the texture of the blockiness of the subway tile, breaking up the monotony through intricate patterns that lend a depth to the space. In addition to the stunning marble being used in this space, this designer also made use of our handcrafted cement tile for the floors, choosing the slate Solid Black Hexagon to offset the vibrance of the rest of the space. In combining these 3 varieties of tile, this designer crafted a lovely bright area offset by strategic introductions of texture and darkness through accenting tiles. Truly a brilliant space! Though broad application of ample marble can lend a level of elegance to a space that isn’t easily achieved, even a small application of marble tile can improve the room as a whole:View this post on Instagram
This small working area’s marble wall makes for an interesting look at the possibilities marble tile presents. Your application of marble doesn’t necessarily need to be some grandiose statement or defining characteristic of the room it’s placed in. It can be some small corner that just makes the space a bit more enjoyable. We often like to remind our customers that they should always build the space that’s best for them. We love promoting many designers’ work because of the inspiration they provide, but what you do with your home and your tile should always reflect your tastes first and foremost.View this post on Instagram
