The holiday season is here, and we spend most of our time with friends, family, and good food. To get into the festive spirit, we’ve set aside some extra time to decorate. Every surface, from kitchen tables to bathroom mirrors, can use a holiday glow-up, and we love the red and green colors of the season. While most people can’t re-tile their spaces just for the holidays, there’s something special about drawing seasonal inspiration from some of our favorite red and green tiled rooms. Maybe these designs will give us a jumpstart on next year’s holiday DIY.
Modern and Rustic with a Gorgeous Green
Natural, rich greens are appropriate for many spaces. At the holidays, it’s easy to be mesmerized by the winter greenery dotting our tablescapes, linens, and wrapping. Something about the mix of greens and browns helps make this design scheme feel warm and grounded, and that’s what we also love about this kitchen inspiration from Eric and Jordan. The couple has upgraded this kitchen to reflect a modern rustic aesthetic. Our Sea Green Zellige 2”x6” tile pairs beautifully with the dark wood accents. In this installation, the handmade imperfections in the Zellige tile bring the kitchen to life by adding extra dimension. We feel like cozying up in the next room and dreaming of a forest cabin getaway.View this post on Instagram
A Sea Green Oasis
Whenever we choose thematic decorations, we’re always on the lookout for multipurpose items, especially around the holidays. This year, we’re pulling lots of inspiration from the way designers use tilework. One of the best things about tile is that it serves both form and function. You don’t have to choose between adding your decorative flair or having a functional space; tile lets you do both simultaneously! The team at @lbminteriors took advantage of this and turned an open-concept bathroom into a relaxing oasis thanks to their willingness to let the tilework shine. Not only is this gorgeous shower surround practical in such a large bathroom, but it also adds an immediate feeling of peace and relaxation to the space. Our Sea Green Zellige 2”x6” tile can easily go from floor to ceiling and meshes well with the stone floor and black window trim.View this post on Instagram
Tiny Space Glam with a Bold Red
Don’t be afraid to make big moves in a small space. Choosing accent colors and décor elements that fill the room with vibrant hues doesn’t have to mean you’ll feel overwhelmed. If done properly, the room will feel abundant and warm instead. Designer @alexandragater is an expert in making small spaces feel bold, and we can’t say enough good things about her use of red tile in this tiny kitchen.Red tones can be romantic, rich, and luxurious. Here, Alexandra has used our Rouge Zellige 2”x6” tile to infuse this rental kitchen with warmth and style. A bold tile choice helps make the space look bigger in this case. Because there’s so much visual interest, your mind is sure the room is more expansive than it really is. This red Zellige tile is the perfect reminder to choose personality for your room — every time.View this post on Instagram
A Well-Curated Mood in Greens
It can be easy to focus on designing the big things — the entire family room that needs an overhaul, the kitchen renovation, the entryway in your new home. One of our favorite tips for making your home feel special is to put just as much design effort into the smaller spots. A well-curated corner can say so much about your home’s character, and @saddleroadinteriors certainly understood this with her mini bathroom reno.Because of the inherent variation in our Sea Green Zellige 2”x6” tile, this backsplash can give many different moods as the light shifts during the day. We love that a bright, natural light will make the corner feel beachy while a candle flickering in the niche will add a romantic, earthy feel. This room highlights just how versatile green tile can be, especially when it’s placed with care and attention in a special space. Even after the holidays have passed, we’ll be using this red and green tile inspiration to add some extra personality to our favorite spaces.View this post on Instagram
