Tile design for commercial spaces must pull double duty: it must be functional and visually appealing. Choosing the right tile can make all the difference for businesses that want to make that perfect first impression. We’re amazed at how easy it is to set the tone for a venue and create a memorable atmosphere, all with one single design choice. The proof is in the stunning spaces these business owners have created using Riad tile as part of a stylish whole.
A Laid-back Party in the Desert
What can you do when you want to stand out but still match the earthy vibes of your desert oasis town? Make a splash with colors and patterns that mix natural hues and eclectic design. We think the owners at @boozehoundsps hit the mark when they aimed for this vibe at their dog-friendly Palm Springs restaurant. As a spot that caters to locals and tourists alike (both human and canine), Boozehounds wanted to create a stylish vacation space that anyone could share with friends.Because Boozehounds is a place where dogs come first, their patios are central to both fashion and function. Using our Estrella Green tile on this outdoor bar was a brilliant choice. The color isn’t too flashy, so the gorgeous desert views aren’t overpowered. On the flip side, the upbeat pattern mirrors the “every occasion is a party” feeling that this desert gem exudes.View this post on Instagram
Bridging Old and New in OK
Making design choices when you’re trying to update an old property can be challenging, but incorporating quality-made and unique pieces is one of the best ways to ensure a stunning result. In Norman, Oklahoma, the crew at @levitybreakfasthouse is busily transforming a 1920s building into what promises to be the hottest new breakfast spot in town. Rather than choosing a fully vintage or modern design approach, the Levity Breakfast House team settled on warm, timeless details that appeal to visitors from any era.The bar is one of the restaurant’s central features, so its design helps inform the entire space. The owners wanted to incorporate greens as a nod to their Pacific Northwest roots, and our 2”x6” Agave Zellige tile is the perfect way to tie everything in the room together. Zellige tile’s handmade quality makes it feel traditional and stylish all at the same time. We also love the vertical positioning on this wraparound bar to help add visual interest to a surface that’s easy to overlook. We can already tell that this new spot will be memorable for both food and design.View this post on Instagram
Mid-century Modern in Mexico
As with interior design, styles and trends in dining décor tend to come and go. One element we’re happy to see revitalized is the use of breeze blocks for Art Deco and mid-century modern designs. We think breeze blocks help put the fun into functional, especially for a bar like this treasure in Mexico City. The owners embraced the mid-century modern approach by combining natural elements with industrialized pieces. Our Butterfly pattern breeze blocks lend some whimsy to the décor without detracting from the sense of cohesive style and ambiance.View this post on Instagram
