DIY darling Kayla Cummings — @itshoneydone — is all about the before and after. She takes that which is lackluster and transforms it into something lovely with do-it-yourself hacks and innovative design tips. One of her latest projects is a kitchen that she's ushered out of the dated '90s, reimagining it with a fresh, modern aesthetic. It's a dazzling upgrade that you'd never guess is the same space. A big part of the metamorphosis is our Snow White Zellige tile, which Kayla implemented to make this renovation a fairy tale come true.

Snow White Zellige: A Luminescent Look
The incredible thing about Snow White Zellige tile is that it is far more complex and layered than what you might initially envision in a white tile. As a handcrafted Moroccan tile, it's renowned for its unique glaze variations that bring a distinct luminescence to every space. It's also known for its irregularities and imperfections that give it an artisanal and timeless quality while still translating as thoroughly current.Kitchen Backsplash Tile in a New Light
With so many kitchen tile ideas, knowing which direction to go can be challenging. But we love how Kayla kept it simple yet statement-making by orienting our Zellige 2"x6" tile vertically for a modern-meets-classic take on subway tile. Before, the kitchen had cabinets that lined the upper perimeter and visually enclosed the space. By removing them and replacing them with the Zellige — taken all the way to the ceiling for a stunning statement — the smaller space immediately becomes more expansive and open.More White-Hot Elements
The mosaic-like, dimensional effect of the Zellige tile needs little else to make it pop. But we love how Kayla has integrated other design elements to complement the tile backsplash.- Gorgeous quartzite counters from @exoticgranite complement the Zellige tile.
