As much as we love all of our offerings, we’ll always hold a special place in our hearts for cement tiles. The first style of tile that we offered, cement tile’s exciting patterns, hand-blended colors, and durability worked together to drive its popularity, leading to countless new uses of vibrant patterned tile.
Soft Colors and Elaborate Patterns: Grey Cement Tile
Cement tile is often associate with bright colors and patterns to match, but many of our most popular cement tiles lean heavily on the delicate contrast between light grey on a white background:Though a lot of our cement tiles are known for their lively color, some are significantly more understated, such as our Havana Grey. Using a blend of soft grey and off-white, this variety of tile is perfect for those spaces where muted colors are the primary focus. Havana Grey is among our more traditional patterns, with design cues taken liberally from the classic tiling of Cuba. With an intricate, artistic pattern that creates a tapestry wherever it’s placed, Havana Grey seamlessly blends the traditional with a few modern updates. Within brighter, white rooms like this one, Havana Grey softens the light present in the room, helping unite the white walls with the wood cabinets. This tub and fireplace look like the perfect place to unwind at the end of a long day, and we’re proud to see our classically-inspired Havana Grey lending its contributions to this clever designer. This delicate pattern is also available in Black for those interested in more significant color contrast. Continuing in our theme of soft grey, we have another fireplace, this time in a more traditional setting:View this post on Instagram
In this living room, you can see yet another example of what just a touch of color and an exciting pattern can do to augment any given space. As stylish and tidy as this space is, it’s amazing how comfortable and homey it manages to be, becoming a perfect spot for afternoons spent sitting, napping, and chatting. Adding just a touch of strategic texture, we have our Emma Grey cement tile on the fireplace. Emma Grey is another of our classically-inspired creations, owing much of its appearance to the art-deco movement. Matching the intricate pattern is the delicate grey color, which is the perfect choice for bright rooms like this. Similar to the bathroom above, this designer uses the slight coloration of Emma Grey to add just a tinge of color to match the decor while also creating a gorgeous classic pattern to the space. This living room proves that even tiles with subdued colors can make a big difference in the color scheme of the room, opening up potential matches and contrasts all over the spectrum At Riad Tile, we love nothing more than encouraging creativity from our customers, because that’s how more personal spaces are created and new uses are discovered. Within every tile we offer, there’s plentiful possibilities, and we always enjoy seeing how those possibilities are explored. In the above two spaces, both designers used grey cement tile to subtly darken the stark white of the rooms, but grey cement tile isn’t limited to such uses as astounding as they are:View this post on Instagram
Pairing with an explosively colorful wallpaper, our ever popular Estrella Grey cement tile reveals what can happen when a designer experiments with mixed textures. This simple laundry room (a space which is often relegated to somewhere in the back of the house) is made into a gorgeous centerpiece with exciting colors, unique textures, and no shortage of style. With the saturated red, green, and purple plastered across the walls in this space, placing the subdued colors of Estrella Grey on the floor might seem like a bit of gamble, but as you can plainly see, the hypnotic pattern present in tile holds its own brilliantly, creating a soft contrast against the boldness of the wallpaper. By matching up with the cabinet color, the tiling also helps unify the space under one ambitious stylistic umbrella. This designer’s unique and exciting tastes are on full display in this laundry room, and we hope to see more from them!View this post on Instagram
Cement Tile with Hand-Blended Pigments
Breaking from our discussion of grey cement tile, Riad Tile also offers an assortment of different colors of cement tile, with many varieties available in more than one color. All of our tiles are colored using blends of natural pigments that we mix by hand. The resulting colors are both rich and lively:The designer of this bathroom used our Nola Pink to create a new spin on the classic pink bathroom. On both the floors and shower walls, the Nola Pink provides a delightful burst of color augmented by the modern fine-line pattern that crawls across the tile. This pink cement tile is an outstanding match for the somewhere-between-turquoise-and-robin’s-egg walls, working together to build an exciting color scheme that looks just fabulous alongside the gold vanity and wood cabinet. Additionally, the smart placement of our 2” Hexagon Mosaic marble tile, seen in our signature Casablanca Carrara, is an excellent match for the hairlines of white present in the Nola Pink. This bathroom is complicated, exceptionally planned, and even better executed. Moving to the darker side, we also offer black cement tile in multiple patterns and shapes, including the ever-contrasting Trident Black:View this post on Instagram
Another of our hexagonal cement tiles, Trident Black offers a stark black-and-white contrast that gives designers the power to create multiple patterns depending on how they choose to place the tiling. This designer’s application offers bursts off-white against the black background, giving this bathroom wall a sparkly vivaciousness that simply can’t be beat.View this post on Instagram
