At Riad Tile, we know that bathroom renovations are a labor of love, and this week’s customer spotlight demonstrates that in gorgeous fashion. Keep reading to learn about a bathroom project from The Modern Lodge, a bespoke Airbnb in Lake Arrowhead, CA, by Summer Bellessa and Los Angeles designer Sarah Solis. Solis designed this space to be “a mix of old-world beauty and modern sensibilities” inspired by the European Alps. The refurbished lakeside cabin combines clean, sleek glamour with cozy, provincial living. Check out the charming bathroom space below:
Our 4”x4” Sea Green Zellige Tiles (shop above) adorn the bathroom walls, bringing the lakefront atmosphere indoors with stunning expertise. One of the beautiful things about our Zellige is its dimensionality. The iridescence of Zellige means that light is constantly hitting the tiles in myriad ways highlighting the colors’ complexity. In an interview with Rue Magazine about the room, Bellessa notes: “the colors in the morning are different than the colors in the afternoon…the sun pulls different hues from those walls all day.”View this post on Instagram

The Tub
One thing that makes this bathroom stand out from the rest is the sleek and compact Alamo Freestanding Tub from Hydro Systems. The smooth, curved lines of the tub serve as a contrast to the square features of the nearby window and Zellige tiles on the wall. This tension between hard lines and soft edges adds to the allure of space already working to balance the old and the new. The tub nook is an ideal place to indulge in a moment of relaxation and self-care. The hanging plant above the tub ties into the green of the tiles, making it easy to connect with nature and yourself.View this post on Instagram
The Sink
The sink space also elevates this bathroom and reminds us of the mixture of styles present throughout the bathroom and the home. The sleek marble countertop, angular mirror, and clean wood finishings give the vanity an air of flawless modernity. As a delightful counter, the brass fixtures, Zellige tiles, and faucet from Waterworks ground us in temporal vintage design. We’d book a stay in this ethereal mountain lodge any time, and it has seen such guests as Candice Cameron and Bridget Blonde. If you’re interested in booking a visit, you can do so here. Check out the reel below to see the complete cabin transformation.View this post on Instagram
