Fall is here, and that means more time indoors snuggling loved ones and sipping warm drinks. It also means it's time to get your house ready to be your cozy shelter from the cold. But fall isn’t just about pumpkin spice and roaring fireplaces. Here are our favorite tile trends this autumn season.
1: Mixing Marbles
White marble tiles work in any space. They’re simple, elegant, and give a clean modern look to your room. What really makes them shine is when you pair together two different styles of marble for a stunning contrast. Shannon Gold Design and her 15-year-old daughter did an amazing job showcasing the beauty of mixed tiles in this bathroom. The two of them achieved an excellent contrast in this design between the simple look of our Casablanca Carrara 4″x12″ Marble Subway tile and the exciting pattern of our Casablanca Carrara 1″x4″ Herringbone Mosaic Marble tile. For your own home, try pairing any of our marble subway tiles with one of our marble mosaic tiles for your own mixed marble interior!View this post on Instagram
2: Terrazzo Walls
When people think tiles, they think kitchens and bathrooms. Now don’t get us wrong, those are spaces where tile thrives, but it always excites us to see designers thinking outside the box and bringing tile into the rest of the home. Terrazzo tiles are perfect for this with their dappled hues that give your eyes plenty to appreciate. Our Terrazzo tiles are handmade by craftsmen who specialize in making the absolute best encaustic cement tiles. Because of this, every tile is both absolutely unique and made to the highest quality, ensuring that your home is one of a kind. This entryway, by Fitzwater Interiors, is a fantastic example. The moody appeal of the Black 12”x12” Terrazo tile welcomes you and your guests in with its enticing, textural look.View this post on Instagram
3: Short Backsplash
We love a look where small details make a big impact. That’s why this autumn one of our favorite trends is a short tile backsplash. Just look at this timeless kitchen designed by Lava Interiors. The uneven texture of Zellige tile makes for a more organic, rustic appearance, and the uneven color of our Natural White 2x2 Zellige looks gorgeous with these gray counters and dark cabinetry.View this post on Instagram
4: Unglazed Zellige
Unglazed Zellige is a look that we love all year long, but it really shines in the Fall. The raw texture and rich earthy tones add the same warmth as fallen leaves and pumpkin pie. Just look at this stunning kitchen by BFF Print Shop and Finder's Keepers Designs. The backsplash, made of our 2”x6” Unglazed Natural Terracotta Zellige, looks beautiful with the complimentary tones of the oven.View this post on Instagram
5: Defined Grout Lines
The last fall trend that we want to showcase is defined grout lines. Grout lines are usually an afterthought. They’re the negative space left behind around the tiles. That’s why we’re so impressed by designs that consciously incorporate grout lines into their look. Just take this example from the brilliant The Market Beautiful. The bold, thick grout lines accent the already rustic style of the 4x4 Natural White Zellige. This is another look absolutely perfect for the fall season.
